Most writing problems are not caused by a lack of tools. They are caused by too many interruptions. A distraction-free writing setup removes unnecessary controls, visual clutter and decisions so you can keep typing.

Start by choosing one place for the draft. Do not keep the same idea in five apps. Open a clean notepad, write a working title and use fullscreen mode if available. The goal is to reduce the number of things competing for attention.

Use a rough outline

A simple outline prevents blank-page pressure. Write the main points as headings, then fill each section with rough sentences. Do not edit every line while drafting. Editing and writing are different modes, and switching too often slows progress.

Finish before polishing

When the first draft is complete, use tools such as a word counter, text cleaner and summarizer to review structure. Then rewrite unclear sections. A clean environment helps you start, but a good review process helps you finish.
